Richard Kober - Obituary

ichard P. Kober, 63, died on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC following a 2-year battle with multiple myeloma. A resident of Sarasota, FL between 1982 and 2007, he spent the last 3 years traveling across the country in his motor home. Richard was born on August 9, 1946 in Washington, DC. Following graduation from Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, he spent 40 years in sales and management in the auto parts industry. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and enjoyed traveling, billiards, reading and classic cars. Richard is survived by his wife, Lois E. Kober whom he married in 1984; a stepson, Tim Nichols of Leesburg, GA; his mother, Estella Kober of Annapolis, MD; two sisters: Carol Murphy of Churchton, MD and Teresa Stack of Upper Marlboro, MD. He is also survived by his grandchildren: T.J., Thomas and Daniel Nichols and Nicholas, Corey and Kristy Payne, all of Leesburg, GA, and two nieces. Friends are invited to Richard's Life Celebration at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Saturday, April 3 from 12 noon until memorial service begins at 2 p.m. Interment private.
