Richard R. Robinson, “Capt. Robby”, a 34-year resident of Riva, died on Wednesday, June 11 at the Mandrin Inpatient Care Center in Harwood. He was 76.
He was born November 11, 1937 in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia to the late Clayton and Nora Robinson. He served his country in the US Navy and worked for as a cabinet maker, PEPCO, Xerox, Cheshire, Videojet and Danaher.
Capt. Robby could stand on his head until he was 72. He was a member of the American Legion. His hobbies included fishing, crabbing, boating, water skiing and helping his friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Harold Robinson.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Katherine Robinson of Riva, his children David (Patricia) Robinson of St. Augustine, FL, and Cathy Lynn (Jim) Dumais of Hanover, PA, step son; Christopher Walter of Riva, one sister; Helen Anders of Charlestown, WV, three granddaughters; April Halverson, Vanessa Robinson and Cassie Lynn Walter and one great-granddaughter Camellia Green. Also survived by his former spouse Nancy Dutton.
Friends are invited to Richard’s Life Celebration on Tuesday, June 17 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 18 at 11am. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville.
