He was a supervisor with REA Express, a lifelong resident of Southeast Washington, D.C. and considered himself extremely fortunate to be a survivor of the D-Day invasion. He was in the 1st wave of the 4th infantry division to land on the beaches of Normandy. The beloved husband of the late Beatrice L. Turner; father of Robert C. (Darla), Michael E. (Linda) and Billy Turner; grandfather of Candy, Karen, Brian and Peter Turner and Cathy Derrington; great grandfather of Kevin, Noah, Shelby, Makayla and Jake; uncle of Albert (Mary) Turner.
