ick Lee Colbert, an over 40 year resident of Edgewater, went home to be with the Lord on July 4, 2008 due to complications from diabetes and heart failure, at Anne Arundel Medical Center. He was 59.
Born October 1, 1948 in Akron, Ohio, he graduated from Annapolis High School in Annapolis, Md. He worked as a route salesman for the Coca Cola Company and later worked at ARINC as a shipping clerk.
Rick served during Vietnam in the United States Army, receiving the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, a combat infantry badge, Army Commendation Medal, Air Medal and a Bronze Star.
He enjoyed teaching Sunday and Bible schools, being a Deacon and usher at church, and studying scripture. Rick also enjoyed many sports.
For the last 10 years Rick has been a very active member of the Anchor Baptist Church in Millersville, MD.
Rick was the faithful husband of Annette S. Colbert, whom we married July 16, 1977, and the loving father of Carie Anne Reverski of Catonsville, MD, Micah Richard Colbert of Millersville, MD, and Camarie Lyn Colbert of Edgewater. Rick is also survived by 1 brother, 2 sisters and 3 grandchildren.
Friends are invited to Rick's Life Celebration on Wednesday July 9, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, P.A., 2973 Solomons Island Rd. Edgewater, MD 21037. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday July 10, 2008 at 10:00am at Anchor Baptist Church 320 W Pasadena Rd Millersville, MD. Burial will take place at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Anchor Baptist Church Mission Fund.
