Rita Vance - Obituary

ita Faye Snyder Vance, a 35-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Virginia Beach, VA died at Anne Arundel Medical Center on October 9, 2011 after a sudden heart attack. She was 62. Born June 9, 1949 in Valdosta, GA, she graduated from Northwestern High School. Rita was employed as a cafeteria worker at South River High School for 20 years. She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, the Redskins, slot machines, R.V. camping, Soap Operas, murder mysteries, jet skiing and watching TV with her husband. Rita was predeceased by her mother, Marie Snyder. She is survived by her husband, Anthony Vance, Sr., whom she married on May 25, 1968; one son, Anthony Vance, Jr. and his wife, Olivia of Visalia, CA; one daughter, Lisa and her husband, Eugene Nash, III of Baltimore, MD; one brother, Richard Snyder, Jr. of Kent Island, MD; five grandchildren, Brandon and Adam Vance of Visalia, CA, and Jesse, David and Josephine Nash of Baltimore, MD; also survived by her father, Richard Snyder, Sr. of Edgewater, MD. Friends are invited to Rita’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 10am until funeral service at 11am.
