Robert Adelman - Obituary

obert Franklin Adelman, "Captain Bob" of Edgewater, MD passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018. Bob was born in Washington, DC on January 1, 1942, to the late Frederick and Edna Adelman. He served in the U.S. Army as a Chemical Staff Specialist. Bob was an auto service station owner, a heavy equipment maintenance mechanic with Prince George's County Fire Department and, a charter boat Captain. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded by his wife, Barbara Marie and his son, Richard Adelman. He is survived by his children, Rick Adelman of Edgewater and Theresa McKelvey of Cumming, GA; eight grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Robbie Adelman, Tony Shutte, Kimberly Guy, Nick, Cody, and Kyle McKelvey. Along with nine great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to celebrate Bob's life on Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 5 to 8 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. A funeral service will be held at 1:45 pm at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd., Crownsville, MD. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Baltimore MD Office, 800 Wyman Park Dr., Ste. 110, Baltimore, MD 21211.
