Anderson, “Robbie or Andy”, 83, a 42-year resident of Lothian, MD, passed away at his residence on Monday, December 20, 2021, surrounded by his family. Robbie was born on July 14, 1938, in Washington, DC to the late Robert and Dorothy Anderson. He was a graduate of Bladensburg High School and worked for Rayco Auto Seat Covers during his teenage years. He later became a police officer and retired from the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Association of Retired Police Officers. His interests included steam engines, vintage automobiles, and home construction. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Elizabeth Anderson, one son Steven Anderson and one stepdaughter, Jackie Messineo. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Dillinger of Edgewater, his stepchildren; Roy Gertz of Davidsonville, Missy Hopkins of Huntingtown, MD and Mary Sines of Lothian, MD, his sisters; Charlotte Harris of Hyattsville, MD, and Dorothy "Squeakie" Anderson of Meridian, Idaho. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren Family and friends are invited to celebrate Robbie's life on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from 11 am until a funeral service begins at 12 noon at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery in Annapolis, MD.
