obert L. “Bob” Chaney, 96, a resident of Crownsville, MD for twenty-four years and previously of Camp Springs, MD, died of Dementia/Alzheimer’s disease on Friday, October 29 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. Born on September 27, 1925 in Seat Pleasant, MD to the late Richard and Grace Chaney, Bob earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and commercial science from South Eastern University in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was honorably discharged as a Technical Sergeant. Bob worked for the Department of the Army for 52 years, for forty-three of those years he worked in the Office of the Surgeon General. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, swimming in the ocean, bowling, Redskins football and most of all being with his family. Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marian Chaney; his children, Robert “Larry” (Lisa) Chaney, Jr., of Millersville, MD, Nina Chaney and Lynn (John) Campeotto all of Lothian, MD and Jill Bruno and Carol Chaney both of Crownsville, MD; his sister, Margaret Peak of Clarksville, MD and his grandchildren, Garrett and Wesley Chaney, Robert III, Michelle and Eric Chaney, Wade and Shane Bruno and Jesse and Lila Campeotto. Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and George Chaney. Friends are invited to celebrate Robert's life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Friday, November 12 from 12 pm until his funeral service begins at 1 pm. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
