obert Clow, 64, a retired salesman, died March 3, 2010 at Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. He experienced heart failure. Mr. Clow was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Oxon Hill, Maryland, the son of a career Army Officer. After graduating from Oxon Hill High School, where he was a star member of the baseball team, he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving four years, most of the time in Germany. Following his release from active duty, he became a Prince George's County police officer and served for three years. Mr. Clow then became a salesman in the automotive business and worked for a number of dealers in the local area. He retired in 1999. He relocated to Tappahannock, VA. in 2006. Mr. Clow was an avid golfer and had an abiding interest in history, visiting many historical sites. He was also active in church affairs. His first marriage to Diana Mundell ended in divorce. Survivors include his wife Sandra Clow, a daughter and a son from his first marriage, Kelly Jones and Robert Clow; a stepson, Todd Coburn; two brothers, Gordon and Douglas Clow and a sister, Courtney Dempsey. Family and friends are invited to Mr. Clow's Life Celebration on Wednesday, March 10 from 6:00PM until service time at 7:00PM at GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd. Oxon Hill, MD. Interment private.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association.
