obert D. “Bob” Ferry, 84, a resident of Annapolis, MD for thirty-seven years and previously of Bowie and Baltimore, died on Wednesday, October 27 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center of natural causes. Born on May 31, 1937 in St. Louis, MO to the late Willard and Elsie Ferry, Bob was a professional basketball player and executive with the National Basketball Association. He was a parishioner of St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church and passionate advocate for the Boys and Girls Club of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County and The Greater Annapolis Y in Arnold. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed being with family, watching his grandchildren play sports and woodworking. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rita Ferry; his children, Laura Katherine Ferry of Annapolis, Robert Dean Ferry, II of Austin, TX, and Dan Ferry of Atlanta, GA; his siblings, Willard “Bill” F. Ferry of Stevensville, MD, James R. Ferry and Mary Ann Ryan both of Kansas City, MO and his grandchildren, Hannah, Grace, Sophia, Lucy, Jackson, Beckett, Rowan and Aimee. Friends are invited to celebrate Bob’s life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Thursday, November 4 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, 701 College Pkwy., Annapolis, MD on Friday, November 5 at 12 noon. Mass will be livestreamed on the St. Andrew by the Bay Facebook page at St Andrew By the Bay Live Stream Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, 121 S.
