Robert Francis Ford - Obituary

obert (Bob) Ford, 93, passed away peacefully on Aug. 19, 2017. He is survived by Margaret Harding Ford (Betty), his wife of 68 years, his sons Stephen, Neil, Richard (Eileen Guidera Ford) and Paul (Lynn Gennings Ford); his six grand-children Brianna Ford, Tim Ford, Dan Ford (Caitlin Kopf Ford), Colleen Ford, Kathleen Ford and Joseph Ford; and his great-granddaughter Mae Ford. Bob served in the Pacific during WWII driving landing craft in the same unit as his twin brother Bill. Upon discharge, he joined his father and brother in the family business Ford Lumber Company. A resident of Rockville, Md., for more than 58 years, Bob lived for the past three years in Edgewater, Md. He was an avid boater and a life-long fan of the Washington Redskins, often regaling his children about the exploits of Slingin' Sammy Baugh. Funeral plans are private.
