Robert Handley - Obituary

obert F. Handley, III age 70, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Waccamaw Community Hospital. Born in Washington, DC, he was a beloved son of the late Ellen and Robert F. Handley, Jr. Mr. Handley was a retired Washington, DC firefighter with 27 years of service and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Edward Handley. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Judie Handley of Myrtle Beach; sons, Sean Handley of Bowie, MD and Rob Handley (Erin) of Lewes, DE; daughters, Shannon Norris (Jeff) of Myrtle Beach and Erin Trichler (Matt) of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Sean Dylan, Morgan, Madison, Christopher, Andrew and Braxton; a brother, B.B. Handley (Charlotte) of The Villages, FL; sister- in- law, Brenda Handley of Mechanicsville, MD and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held at Brinsfield Echols Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD on Sunday, August 16 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. Memorial Mass will be offered on Monday, August 17 at 11am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 28297 Old Village Rd., Mechanicsville, MD.
