Robert Scott Hislop - Obituary

obert “Bob” Scott Hislop, 79, of Annapolis, MD passed away suddenly on March 24, 2026. Born on September 9, 1946 in Grand Rapids, MI to Jack Rabidue and Marjorie “June” Hislop, Bob attended Grand Rapids High School and Central Michigan University followed by Georgetown University where he obtained his degree in dentistry. He practiced family dentistry for over 40 years in Gaithersburg, MD, often caring for generations of the same family. He began his career in the Air Force at England Air Force base in Alexandria, LA before transitioning to private practice. Bob was known as a kind and compassionate man. He spent his summers as a counselor at Camp Manitou-Lin and worked as a ski patroller. He was a great neighbor and community member. Bob was the beloved husband to Nancy Lazzari; father to Sean and Gregory; brother to Marci Logie and Jane Swainston; Pop-Pop to Gabe, Dominic, Savannah, Luke, and is survived by countless friends and family over the years who will always toast to his name every time it is spoken. He lived life to its fullest and took every opportunity possible to be a great friend and companion. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Robert's life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd. Edgewater, MD on Sunday, March 29th from 6 to 8 PM. Mass of the Resurrection will be offered at St. John Neuman Catholic Church, 620 N Bestgate Rd, Annapolis, MD on Monday, March 30th at 10:30 AM.
