obert Jarrett Money Jr., 86, of Camp Springs, MD was born in Washington, DC on May 25, 1940 to the late Robert Jarrett Money Sr. and Frances Estelle Money (Greenfield).
“Sonny” (Bob) worked his first job for the Safeway Bakery making loaves of bread before becoming a Pipefitter for Steamfitters Local Union 602. He worked for Washington Refrigeration, Rogers Refrigeration and lastly with Weather Control where he finally retired.
He fell in love with Ellen Lorraine. They were together for 66 years. He was a great provider for his family working many long hours.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and baseball. He loved going fishing on Jarrett’s boat along the Potomac River. He attended many professional baseball games of his brother (Donald). Sonny also enjoyed eating crabs in the Crab Room in Joyce and Tommy’s house. He loved watching his only granddaughter grow up and taking her on hunting trips as such a small girl. Sonny then watched her have his four great grandchildren. He loved celebrating holidays with his family. And finally, he loved all of his dogs and cats he had during the many years especially Midnite and Bear.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Lorraine of 66 years, daughter Joyce Chambers (Tommy) of Brandywine, MD, son Jarrett Money of Camp Springs, granddaughter Brandi Chambers (Jason) of Pikeville, TN, great grandchildren Jason Jr., Scarlet, Christopher and Evander (Little Robin Hood). Also his brothers, Kenneth Money, Sr., Donald Money Sr. (Sharon), and Joseph Money; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Robert's Life Celebration on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, MD 20745. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 10:30 A.M. at the KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill MD 20745.
