native of Washington, D.C. and more recently of Bethany Beach, Delaware, Bob Patton was the beloved husband of the late Catherine Regina Brockwell (b. December 5, 1925). Jean’s death in 1961 left him to lovingly raise their five girls who survive him: Mary Baroody (Michael), Theresa Garner (Richard), Catherine Sanchez (Joseph), Jeanne Spurling (James) and Julie Levy (Daniel).
“Derdad” was the doting grandfather of Michael, Timothy, Catherine Regina (Jeannie), Matthew, Peter, Meghan, Monica, Robert Frederick (Fred), Christopher, Joseph, Cathleen, Mary, Theresa, Joseph, Robert, Christina, Allison, Jennifer, Joshua, Christine and Noah. He is also survived by 39 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In World War II, he was a “plank owner” on both the USS Intrepid and the USS Mannert L. Abele. He worked for 32 years as a printer at the Washington Post.
Family and Friends will gather at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2800 Pennsylvania Avenue, S.E., Washington, D.C. on Saturday, October 17th at 10:00 am.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 am.
Interment will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
