Robert Elwood Simpson - Obituary

obert "Bob" Elwood Simpson, a 40-year resident of Shady Side, MD and previously of Rockville, MD, died in Edgewater, MD on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, of natural causes. He was 82. Born August 23, 1935, in Washington, D.C., he served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electrician's Mate from 1949-61. Following his military service, Bob worked as an electrician with IBEW Local 26. He loved boats, sewing, and living in his waterfront home. Bob is preceded in death by his wife of 51-years, Kitty Jane Simpson. He is survived by his three daughters, Lisa Anne Sheriff of Prince Frederick, MD, Colleen Marie Hartzler of PA, and Kathleen Michelle Porter of Annapolis, MD; three siblings, George Anthony Simpson of College Park, MD, John Simpson of Annapolis, MD, and Steven Simpson of Suitland, MD; nine grandchildren, Bradley, Jack, and Julie Porter, Leah, Elizabeth, Jessica Wetzel, Olivia, Mackenzie, and Samantha Sheriff, and two great granddaughters Zoe, and Madison.
