Robert Sydenstricker - Obituary

etired Army Lt. Col. Robert Clayton Sydenstricker, 83, a seven-year resident of Edgewater and formerly of Forest Heights, died of natural causes March 4 in his home. Lt. Col. Sydenstricker was born Feb. 26, 1925, in Parkersburg, W.Va., and graduated from Parkersburg High School. He retired from the Army after 28 years of active service. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Carla Sydenstricker. Survivors include his wife of over 60 years, Pauline F. Sydenstricker; two sons, Mike Sydenstricker of Solon, Ohio, and Jeff Sydenstricker of Edgewater; and two grandchildren. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater. Funeral services will be held at noon Monday at the funeral home.
