obert A. Uhl, Sr., “Bob”, a 48 year resident of Edgewater, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 30, 2014. Bob was born on August 15, 1928 in Washington, D.C. to the late Anton C. and Dorothy May Uhl. A US Army veteran, he was stationed in Germany at the end of World War II. After his military service, he worked as a meat smoker for Briggs and Co. Meatpackers, and retired after a lengthy career. Bob was a Redskins and Orioles fan and also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose, his son; Robert A. Uhl, Jr. and his brother Charles C. Uhl. He is survived by his three daughters; Nora and her husband James, Bandura of Edgewater, Joanne Riley of Deale, and Tina Whitaker of Mauldin, South Carolina, nine grandchildren; Adele Whitaker, Joshua, Michelle and Ryan Bandura, Angie Colwell, Corey Uhl, , Amanda and Natthan Whitaker and James Davis and five great-grandchildren; Lindsey, Maddie, McKenzie, Lilly and Luke. Friends may call on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 11am until a memorial service begins at 12:30pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Interment private.
