Robert L. Zimmerman - Obituary

obert Lee Zimmerman (80) formerly of Wheeling, WV, and Clarence, NY, passed away at home in Annapolis, MD on July 2, 2023, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Robert received his Ph.D. in Audiology and Speech Pathology from Southern Illinois University in 1970, his MA from the University of Maryland, College Park, and his BA from West Liberty State College and then he had a long career as the Chief of Audiology and Speech Pathology at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo, NY. In his early married life, he and his wife enjoyed camping and traveling. He also enjoyed classical music and his four grandchildren. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years, Mary Sharon (Percosky), his daughter Erica L. Zimmerman Stahrr and her husband John P. Stahrr and his son, Robert L. Zimmerman, Jr. and his wife, Shuan Yang, and four grandchildren, Jessica M. Stahrr, John P. Stahrr, Jr., Jupiter Zimmerman-Yang, and Lotus Zimmerman-Yang. He is also survived by his three siblings, Thomas Zimmerman, Barbara (Zimmerman) Morris, and Jay Zimmerman. A small family gathering will occur at a later date.
