Robin Brewer Walker - Obituary

obin Walker was a brave warrior who battled cancer over several years. On December 15, 2020, the Lord called our courageous warrior home to battle no more. ROBIN (ROB) BREWER WALKER, was born on November 21, 1956 to the late Brooks Walker and the late Louise Walker. As a Washington, DC native, Rob graduated from Cardoza High School. Rob spent his childhood on Newton Street NW, Washington, DC. Rob loved to talk especially about The Washington (Redskins). He was an avid sports fan. He always had a charming ability to engage others in conversation. Rob attended Christ Church Way of the Cross in Cheverly, Maryland where he was baptized and dedicated his life to the Lord. Rob began his tenure at Jewish Community Center (JCC) in July of 2015 through a guard service. He then joined the JCC family on a full-time basis in May of 2017 as a Head Security Guard. Rob loved the JCC family which consisted of the staff, the board members and especially the children in the preschool. He was a dedicated employee and was an integral member of the JCC community. Rob fought to the very end and was in good spirits knowing how much he was loved. Rob leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 30 years, Beverly Walker, daughters Eleathea Robinson, Ashley Leak and Robyn Walker, one granddaughter Alyiah Leak and six grandsons Steven Robinson, Samuel Robinson, Gregory Burroughs, VanQuel Robinson, Kavaree Robinson and Tyson Leak, three great-grands, Adyen, Steven and Skyler, two sisters Lucinda Sistare (Fred), and Freda Walker. He also leaves behind a very special Aunt Margaret Washnitzer, five sister in-law’s, two brother-in-law’s and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
