Roland A. Hayman - Obituary

oland Allen Hayman, Jr.“Butch”, 72, a 32-year resident of Edgewater and previously of Yonges Island, SC, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019, at his home. Butch was born on June 5, 1946, in Crisfield, MD to the late Roland and Fanny Hayman, Sr. He was an avid waterman working alongside of his father for most of his life. He owned a Seafood business in Yonges Island, SC and later took over Hayman’s Crab House in Edgewater, MD until he retired. Butch had a passion for oyster buy-boats, the Chesapeake Bay, classic cars, the Baltimore Orioles/ Ravens, taking daily road trips to the Eastern Shore, cold Miller Lite, spending time with his friends and loved being with his daughters and grandkids. He was known for his quick wit, ability to drive extremely slow and way of making friends with everyone he met. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 16 years, Linda Young Hayman. He is survived by his two daughters; Kelly Grancitelli and her husband, Tony of Pasadena, MD and Cathy Malloy and her husband Tommy of Stevensville, MD, his siblings; Roland “Sonny” Hayman and his wife “Chotts” of Reedville, VA, Janice Walls and her husband Larry of Edgewater, MD and Dolores Abbott and her husband Ernie of East New Market, MD. Butch has also survived his six grandchildren, Lexy, Peyton, Landon, Anna, Brady and Sophia; niece Jenny Yates and her husband Alex, and nephews’ Mark Walls and his wife Tricia and Jeff Hayman and his wife Jeanie. All family and friends are invited to celebration Butch’s beautiful life on Friday, February 8, 2019, at 4 pm at Mike’s Crab House, 3030 Riva Rd., Riva, MD 21140.
