.J. Roy, Jr., "Roy", a resident of Edgewater, MD since 1979 and previously of Japan died at Anne Arundel Medical Center on December 23, 2014. He was 71.
Born December 25, 1942 in Neptune, NJ, he grew up in Toms River, NJ and spent his summers in Seaside Heights, NJ. Roy graduated from Toms River High School. He retired from the United States Navy in 1983. While he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, he loved to scuba dive with his friends. Roy coached youth baseball and softball for the Edgewater Blue Devils and was a Cubmaster for Pack 815 in Edgewater. He loved to animals and decorating for Christmas. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles, doing yard work and being part of the neighborhood watch.
He is survived by his wife, of 45 years, Kimiko Roy; one son, Karl W. Roy of Glen Burnie, MD; two siblings, Al George Roy of Raleigh, NC and Sue Nelson of Casper, NY; and two grandsons, Stephan and Matthew Roy of Edgewater.
