omeo known as Romy Bernales, peacefully returned to our Lord on the morning of July 8th 2024 after 78 years of celebrating life. Romy was born in Bicol, Philippines on November 12th 1946, to the late Thomas Ng Bernales and the late Pasencia Bernales. Romeo spent his young age in Manila where he also studied and then moved to Olongapo City where he started his band called “CYCLONES”. Romeo enjoyed his time as a drummer for the cyclones where they would play all around Olongapo City. After his time as a drummer, Romy later became a businessman. In 1996, He migrated to Maryland to be with his parents and siblings. Romy enjoyed playing bingo for the remainder of his life, He was also known as the “BINGO KING” as he enjoyed bringing people to Jaycees, Waysons and Bingo World. Romeo is survived by his former wife, Josefina Bernales. Children: Rebecca, Glenda, Suzette & Sherwin, Joseph, Edwin & Maira, Rommina & John, Mina and Darrel. Grandchildren: Elijah, Jacob & Michelle, Shainah & Thomas, Joshua & Mary Rose, Lianne , Sheine, Shannae, Andrea, Jonah, Ernest, Immanuel, Jaiden, Sophia and Jael.. His Siblings: Cora & Allan, Espie, Erlinda,, Danny, Rosario, Roger & Mirriam, Robert & Barbara, Susan , Rosemarie & Darryl and Dindo & Raquel. Romeo is preceded in death by his siblings: Roland, Patrick & Rudy. We wholeheartedly want to thank auntie Cristeta Ricasa for loving and caring for our papa for many years! Romeo was a piece of Joy to every person he encountered in his lifetime. To his family, He will always be their “PAPA OM” and they will always remember his unforgettable smile, beautiful singing voice and his many jokes that will make the room light up. He loved bringing his kids and grandkids to Atlantic City for spring and summer break where he would make memories with them. Romeo was the best father and grandfather he could be, he always did the best of his abilities for every single one of them– even in his last days. Romeo will truly be missed by many, and he will forever live in our hearts.
