Ronald Caffey - Obituary

onald Burl Caffey, DVM, 76, a resident of Bowie, MD for over 31 years and previously of the Midwest died on December 7, 2008 in Annapolis, MD Born, October 30, 1932 in Lebanon, Missouri, he graduated from Fort Collin A.M. College in 1956 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. Mr. Caffey was employed at the Department of Agriculture as Assistant to the Deputy Administrator, APHIS-Animal Disease Eradication, PPQ-Plant protection and quarantine. He was leader of the federal emergency team; supervisor of animal and port inspections worldwide. His hobbies included waterskiing, carpentry and travel. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Caffey; father of Rodney B. Caffey of Moncure, NC, Connie Thompson of Sevierville, TN and Chris Parisi of Bowie, MD; brother of Burlene LeClair of Sequin, TX and Peggy Cummings of Julesburg, CO; also survived by 4 grandchildren.
