R

onald Earle Pence, of Annapolis, MD, passed on Sunday, April 3, 2022 and joined his mother and father, Stella and Hank, and his older brother, Dick, in Heaven. Ronnie is survived by his children, Sandy (Craig) Shields of Frederick, MD, Jerry Smargiassi of Brookeville, MD and Teri (Michael) Kropp of Limerick, PA; his older brother, Bob (Suzy) Pence; his sister in law, Dick’s widow, Diane Faulkner; his grandchildren, Devin, Nichole, Mazzi, Niko, Marley and numerous nephews and nieces. With the exception of the years from 1968 to 1971, when he served honorably in the United States Army, Ronnie’s entire business life was spent with the C & P Telephone Company. Throughout his life he played guitar in any number of local bands. He was an avid participant in the Annapolis sailing community as he traveled near and far on his sailboat. He loved to share his summer stays, with friends and family, in Bethany Beach, DE. A private graveside service will be held at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA. A celebration of his life will take place in Annapolis, MD at a later date. Condolences may be made by using the Memories tab on this page.
