Ronald Walter - Obituary

onald S. Walter, "Ron"/"Ronnie", a 13-year resident of Shady Side, MD and previously of Lothian, MD, died on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore following a stroke. He was 54. He leaves a legacy of love, family, faith, friendship, hard-work, honor, and infectious laughter. Born April 5, 1961 in Cheverly, MD, to Joseph A. Walter of Lothian, MD and Lillian H. Walter-Kinser of Shepherdstown, WV, he attended Southern High School. Ron proudly worked as a service technician for Edgerton-Becker in Annapolis, MD and was a member of Riva Trace Baptist Church in Davidsonville, MD. Ron enjoyed helping others, sport-shooting, his Plum Crazy SRT-8 Dodge Charger, cigars, fishing, model rockets, and fixing things. He loved the Lord and his friends. He was a superior, brother, uncle, father and grandfather. However, his primary passion was caring for his greatest treasure, his wife. In addition to his parents, Ron is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Wilseydee Walter; two good sons, Vincent Walter and his wife, Kristin of Davidsonville, MD and Joseph Walter and his wife, Amanda Wilcher of Annapolis, MD; one caring daughter, Holly Walter and her husband, Richard Rogers of Edgewater, MD; eight beautiful grandchildren, Dylan, Brody, Nathan, Zackary, Vanessa, Miranda, Leyla, and Elizabeth; one great brother, Steven Walter and his wife, Maria of Lothian, MD; a very helpful step-mother, Maria Walter of Lothian, MD and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Tuesday, December 15 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 16 at 11 am at Christ Episcopal Church, 220 Owensville Rd., West River, MD. Interment immediately following in the church cemetery.
