Rosa Dacko - Obituary

osa Maria Dacko, 82, a 25-year resident of Crofton, MD, died on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at South River Health and Rehabilitation Center after a three-month illness. She was born on December 24, 1928 in Goritzia, Italy to the late Luigi and Regina Cresta. In 1946, Rosa immigrated to the United States after completing high school in Italy. She worked as a waitress in a number of Anne Arundel County restaurants and enjoyed knitting, reading, cooking and gardening. Rosa was predeceased by her former spouse, Horace Dacko, who died in 2010 and a brother, Primo Cresta. She is survived by her children, Joanne Elizabeth Lash of Hanover, PA, Denise Marie Dacko of Annapolis; David Brian Dacko of West River, Douglas Allen Dacko of Jessup, and a brother, Eduardo Cresta, and a sister, Mariucci Cresta, both of Goritzia, Italy; four grandchildren, Lorraine, Larry, Greg, and Peyton; six great-grandchildren, Lisa, Billy, Kelley, Shawn, Kevin and Jessica and four great-great grandchildren, Brianna, Bryan, Brennem and Riley. Friends are invited to Rosa’s Life Celebration on Friday, February 18, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD where funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 19, at 11 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Cemetery, West River.
