Rose Kirkland - Obituary

herese Kirkland “Rose”, 91, a resident of Annapolis and previously of Heritage Harbour died on Friday, January 13, 2012 in Annapolis. Born February 22, 1920 in Pirmasens, Germany, to the late Therese and Johann Keim, Rose was an accomplished seamstress and homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crochet, needlepoint and gardening. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, George Kirkland on June 2, 2002; a brother, Martin Keim; a grandson, Eric McCord. Rose is survived by two daughters, Sylvana Tucker of Annapolis and Vonja Kirkland of Dempsey, FL; three grandchildren, Jasper Tucker of Annapolis, Wilson McCord of Manhattan, NY and Tsa McCord of Florida; and two great-grandchildren, Austin and Dustin McCord. Friends are invited to Rose’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater on Wednesday, January 18 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. A graveside service will be held at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville on Thursday, January 19 at 10:45am.
