osemary Helen Burris, 90, a fifty five year resident of Edgewater and formerly of Washington, D.C. died on Saturday, September 29 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE of natural causes. Born in Washington, D.C. on October 7, 1921 to the late Charles F. and Della Blanche Brown, Rosemary graduated from Eastern High School in 1939. She was a secretary with the Interstate Commerce Commission and the Department of Justice in Washington for twenty eight years and was an avid golf fan. In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her husbands, Frantz C. Wilson in 1949 and Lawrence R. Burris in 1966 and a sister, Ruth Erickson. She is survived by three sons, Leroy G. Wilson of Delmar, DE, Steven C. Wilson and Lawrence R. Burris both of Edgewater; a daughter, Charlene McCabe of Virginia Beach, VA; a brother, Robert Brown of New Bern, NC. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Rosemary’s Life Celebration on Saturday, October 6 from 1:00 to 3:00pm with her memorial service beginning at 3:00pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
