osemary Norair Jaskiewicz "Rosie", 89, a resident of Annapolis for 4 years and previously of Upper Marlboro, MD, died peacefully at home on Sunday, November 5 after a long illness. Born in Meyersdale, PA to the late Hrandt and Anne Norair, Rosie grew up in Washington, DC and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1945. She was a 1947 graduate of Averett College in Danville, VA where she was an avid horsewoman, and a 1949 graduate of American University in Washington, DC, earning a B.A. Degree. From 1952 to1957 Rosie was a secretary with the American Chemical Society and from 1957 to 2006 held various officer positions within the Norair organization. She held numerous positions in Republican organizations on state, county and local levels and for several years was the editor of the Foundry Church newsletter. She lived for 2 years in Frankfurt, Germany, travelling throughout Europe with her husband who represented a U.S. law firm in Europe. Rosie was a gourmet cook, took flying lessons and continued to travel Europe extensively. She was the beloved wife of 61 years of Edmund M. Jaskiewicz; mother of Edmund N. Jaskiewicz of Little Rock, AR, Diane J. Generous of Baltic, CT, Richard H. Jaskiewicz of Washington, DC, and Eric M. Jaskiewicz of Atlanta, GA; grandmother of Edmund Spencer Jaskiewicz, Theodore, Alex and Leigh Generous, also survived by two great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to celebrate Rosemary's life on Thursday, November 9 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD where her funeral service will be held on Friday, November 10 at 11 AM. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
