osemary "Rodie" Parker, of Annapolis, MD passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 17, 2012 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Born April 12, 1929 in Covington, KY to the late Joseph Felix and Louise Mary (Bricking) McDermott, she moved to Washington, DC as a young child. She later moved to Landover Hills, MD while raising her family and finally to the Heritage Harbour community in Annapolis, MD. Rodie enjoyed going to lunch, chatting on the phone and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Hughes Parker, Jr. in 1993;a grandson, Tyler Parker; a sister, Mick McDermott; and a brother, Joseph Felix McDermott, Jr.
Rosemary is survived by three sons, Mike (Kathy) Parker of Charlotte Hall, MD, Pat (Debbie) Parker of Severna Park, MD and Tim (Sally) Parker of Edgewater; a daughter, Nancy (Mike) Taylor of Edgewater, MD; seven grandchildren, Michael (Carolyn) Parker of Waldorf, MD, Heather (David) Carter of Mantua, NJ, Greg and Sean Taylor of Edgewater, MD and Matt, Sam and Stacie Parker of Severna Park, MD; two sisters, Norma Baumgartner of Kensington, MD and Pam (Wally) Hauff of Plant City, FL; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to Rodie's Life Celebration on Monday, August 20 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. A memorial mass will be offered on Tuesday, August 21 at 10am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 515 Loch Haven Road, Edgewater, MD. Interment private.
