osemary died peacefully on November 4, 2024, with some of her family present. She was born on October 7, 1949, in Washington DC. The family moved to Hillcrest Heights, MD when Rosemary was young.  She lived most of her adult life in Laurel and Upper Marlboro MD. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Patricia and her brother James. She is survived by her siblings Sister Chris, OSF (Patricia), Jane (Donald) Perham, Clare, John (Janet), Mary (Timothy) Flynn, Martha (Christopher) O’Connor and sister-in-law Bing. In addition, Rosemary had 12 favorite nieces and nephews and 4 favorite great nieces and nephews whom she adored. Rosemary was a proud graduate of La Reine High School and remained in close contact with her Class of 1967 “sisters”. After graduation she began to work for The Washington Suburban Sanitation Commission as a dedicated administrative assistant for over 30 years. She also served as the scorekeeper for their softball team. After her retirement, she became an active member of their Retirees Association where she loved planning and participating in monthly events and activities.  In 2017, Rosemary was recognized by the Archdiocese of Washington with the Manifesting the Kingdom Award for her dedication as a kindergarten catechist and curriculum planner. She was honored for her decades of outstanding service to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Silver Spring, MD, devoting countless hours to creating lessons and crafts for her kindergarten classes, where she joyfully shared the message of Jesus. Over the years, Rosemary found great joy in playing Bingo and trying her luck with pull tabs, and was especially happy when she won. Through her various activities and part time positions after retirement, she formed many lifelong friendships that she cherished deeply until the end. She loved her family and all the many crazy Treichel traditions. She prided herself in always finding the perfect birthday card (sniff, sniff) and Christmas gifts for her friends and family. She will forever be remembered by her friends and family for her loyalty, generosity and faithfulness.  In lieu of flowers you may make a donation in Rosemary’s name to her sister’s religious congregation: The Franciscan Sisters of Allegany 115 East Main Street Allegany, NY 14706 There will be a gathering for family and friends on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 4 to 7 PM at St. Mary of the Assumption School Family Life Center: 4610 Largo Road, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 14908 Main Street, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772. Interment will immediately follow the funeral at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton, MD 20735.
