oy Wallace Lewis was born on July 23, 1944 to the late Floyd and Rosa Lewis of Drewryville, Virginia. Roy completed his high school education and joined the military shortly thereafter. He served 22 years in the United States Army and retired with honors. Roy dedicated his life to Jesus Christ at an early age at Pleasant Shade Baptist Church in Franklin Virginia. He moved to Maryland and continued to serve the Lord. He was a member of Saint Mark AME Church of Oxon Hill, MD and later joined Young’s Memorial Church of Christ in Washington DC. He was a member of King Solomon Lodge #7 working under St. John Grand Lodge, A.F. & A. M., Washington, DC. Roy was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved playing cards (a trash talker), driving, singing, and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of multiple gospel groups. He always like nice things and took great pride in his appearance. Roy was a cheerful giver. Roy was preceded in death by his parents (Floyd and Rosa Lewis) and 3 brothers (George L. “John-T” Lewis, William L. “Wimp” Lewis and Johnny L. “Skinny” Lewis). Survived by his devoted sister Eliza (aka Sister) Lewis, three daughters, Lolethia Jones, Marsha Chapman, Monica Jones, seven grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to his devoted niece Charlene Moore, loving friends Joe Gaskin, Debra Porter, Rhondy Wardell, Rosevelt Morris and the staff at Morningside of Saint Charles. If tears could build a stairway and memories were a land, we will walk right up to heaven and bring you back again. Our hearts still ache in sadness and secret tears still flow. What it meant to lose you, no one will never know. I am glad I got to say goodbye, before God called you home. Love Always, Your Sister
