Ruby Meredith - Obituary

uby Lucile Meredith a life long resident of Annapolis passed away on July 13, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Mrs. Maxwell Coates; granddaughter of the late Peter & Pearl Aisquith; loving wife of the late William H. Meredith; beloved mother of Michael Meredith (Maxine), Michelle Meredith DeVaughn (Douglas) and the late Merlin Meredith(Mary Jane); dear sister of late Allen Coates and Barbara Wilkerson; cherished grandmother of Stephanie Robinson, Matthew Meredith and Carley Meredith; and great grandmother of 3. Ruby graduated from Annapolis High School in 1947. She was a teacher's aide at Parole Elementary for 20 years and retired in 1992. Ruby was an active member of All Hallows Church and was instrumental in the Church's food bank. She was an active member of the Women's Chapter of the Annapolis Moose Lodge for over 30 years. Ruby loved spending time with her family, playing bingo, watching O's games, dancing and caring for her plants & flowers. Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Sunday, July 19 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 20 at All Hallows Episcopal Church, Brick Church location, 3604 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD at 11:30am. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, Annapolis MD. A reception will be held at the Annapolis Moose Lodge immediately following the burial.
