Russell Baldwin - Obituary

ussell Y. Baldwin, a resident of Heritage Harbour in Annapolis, MD for 18 years and previously of Riva, MD for 30 years, died on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. He was 88. Born September 10, 1926 in Washington, D.C. to the late Virgil and Ruth Baldwin, he graduated from Hyattsville Senior High School. He worked as an estimator for A.H. Smith Asphalt Company for over 30 years. After he left A.H. Smith, he worked for Arundel Paving and eventually retired from Genstar Paving in 1992. Russell was a member of the Annapolis and West River Yacht Clubs, the Chesapeake Cruisers and the Annapolis Power Squadron. He enjoyed boating, gardening and football. In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Robert Baldwin. Russell is survived by his wife, Peggy, whom he married on January 27, 1968; two nephews and four nieces. Friends may call on Sunday, January 11 from 2 to 4pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, January 12 at 11am. Interment Ft. Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.
