Ruth Ellis - Obituary

uth Ellis Ruth Aileen Ellis, 76, of Annapolis and previously of Ocala, Fla., and Severna Park, died of leukemia June 4 at her home after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Ellis was born June 11, 1930, in Quicksburg, Va., and was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed gardening, golf, sewing, cooking and arts and crafts. On Oct. 21, 1948, she was married to Byron "Rich" Ellis. Also surviving are one son, Byron R. Ellis Jr. of Severna Park; three daughters, Aileen R. Maertens of Kapolei, Hawaii, Lisa A. Grant of Lothian and Myra Ellis of Pasadena; three brothers, Everett, Russell and Herman Lloyd, all of Quicksburg; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Burial will be private.
