Ruth Ornstein - Obituary

Age 84) Died of a serious infection on Thursday, July 26, 2007 in Dallas, TX. She is survived by two sons, Peter and Conrad Ornstein; three grandsons, Nicholas, Sebastian and Matthew. A resident of the DC area for almost 60 years, she arrived in Washington in the late '40's to take a secretarial job at the Pentagon with the U.S. Navy. She continued to work for the Navy until her marriage to Edward Ornstein in 1951. He died last February. They were married 55 years. After her marriage, she devoted her time to raising her two children. She loved animals and passed that love onto them. In many ways, she saw life through her young children's eyes, and took delight in making their days, especially holidays, special. Friends and relatives are invited to Ruth's Life Celebration at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD 20745 on Monday, September 10, 2007 at 12:15 pm.
