ally Ann Walker Lamb, 72, of Arnold, Maryland died August 2, 2007 at her home after a long struggle with multiple sclerosis and cardiovascular ailments.
Mrs. Lamb was born in Pueblo, Colorado on June 24, 1935. She graduated from the University of Denver, where was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and was named as “Miss D.U.†of 1957. She taught secondary school English in Los Angeles until 1959, when she married Karl A. Lamb and joined him in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where their son Steven was born. In 1962, she returned to California when her husband joined the staff of the new Santa Cruz campus of the University of California. A second son and two daughters were born in Santa Cruz. In 1985, Sally moved to Annapolis, Maryland when her husband became Dean and Professor of Political Science at the Naval Academy.
Sally was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church. Her great interests were her family and her music. She was a gracious hostess, and she played the piano, flute and marimba. She played flute and marimba professionally and taught lessons in all three instruments. Her sense of humor shone through despite her long illness, which did not break her spirit.
Survivors are her husband of forty eight years, Karl Lamb; sons Steven B. Lamb of Poulsbo, Washington and Martin A. Lamb of Arnold, Maryland; daughters Amy K. L. Heckel of Santa Cruz, California; and Cynthia M. Lamb of Arnold, Maryland; a sister, Nancy W. Nesbitt of Arizona and Wisconsin, a sister-in-law, Beverly L. Cochran of Corona del Mar, California; and four grandsons, Erik, Jaycob, Jeremy, and Owen Lamb.
