Sam Banasiak - Obituary

am Banasiak, 23, a life-long resident of Riva, died suddenly in Fairfax, VA on December 5. Born on October 25, 1990 in Washington, DC to Gene Banasiak and Jill Lienhardt, Sam went to Indian Creek School, graduated from South River High School, and was currently an engineering student at George Mason University. Along with his parents, he is survived by one brother, Cary Banasiak of Riva and one grandfather, Jack Lienhardt of Covington, VA. Friends are invited to Sam’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, December 11 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 12 at 12PM. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sam's name to either Friends of the Blue Ridge at www.friendsbrp.org or Native American Heritage Association at www.naha-inc.org.
