Sandra Carroll-Williams - Obituary

r. Sandra Carroll-Williams entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Sandi was born and raised in Washington, DC, descending from six generations of Washingtonians. She received her BS in Education from DC Teachers College, where she was a member of the Beta Iota chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She went on to become an accomplished educator earning her Masters from Virginia Tech and retiring from the DC Public School System after 32 yrs. of service. She continued her quest to educate by earning her PhD in Education and Public Policy from the Univ. of Illinois and becoming an Adjunct Professor at the Univ. of MD, College Park. She is preceded in death by her parents Herbert V. Carroll and Virginia M. Carroll. Left to mourn her loss is her devoted husband of 58 years, Ernest Williams; children Kelsey Williams Brantley, Joelle Williams Patience, and Nathan V. Williams; grandchildren Gale Passé, Virginia Brantley, DéYon Stroud, Damion Williams, and Ian Patience; and great-grandchildren Noah Passé and Marley Jo Passé. Along with a host of cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sickle Cell Disease Assoc. of America. At her request, burial arrangements will be private.
