Sandra M. Hunter - Obituary

n April 26, 2023, Sandra Mae Hunter (Sandi) of Shady Side, Maryland passed away while surrounded by her loving daughters after a five-year battle with Glioblastoma. Sandi attended Bladensburg High School in Bladensburg, MD. She was known for her unwavering passion for helping others in the dental and doctor’s offices she worked at throughout the years. Sandi was a fun-spirited soul who took on many hobbies. Her hobbies included: crafting, gardening, designing jewelry, and event planning. Survivors include her daughters, Jamie Leigh Burroughs (Michael) and Jessica Lynn O’Connor (Thomas) along with her father, Kenneth Hunter, brothers Kenneth Hunter Jr. and Ronald Hunter, and sister Candice Carlsen. In addition, her six grandchildren, Evan, Olivia, Vivian, Nora, Grace, and Danny. Sandi is preceded in death by her mother, Mona Lou Hunter, and brother, Alan Hunter. A viewing will be held at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037 on Saturday, April 29th from 1:00 pm- 2:00 pm. A memorial will be held directly after, at 2:00 pm. Reception to follow at Glory Days Bar and Grill for family and friends.
