Sandra Jean Pollock - Obituary

andra Jean “Sandy” Pollock, (née Raymont), 66, a 25-year resident of Severna Park, MD and previously of South Bend, IN, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 in Mt. Airy, MD. Sandy was born April 7, 1950 in Cleveland, OH to the late Fred and Jean Raymont. Sandy received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami Ohio and her Master’s degree in Education from the University of Indiana, South Bend. Sandy was a special education teacher and taught in Ohio, Indiana and finally in the Anne Arundel County School system at Glen Burnie Park Elementary until she retired in 1994.She was past president of the Young Onset Parkinson's Support Group at Johns Hopkins and a member of the Anne Arundel Chapter of the American Parkinson's Disease Association. Sandy’s interests included reading, word searches, playing cards and attending her family’s sports events. Sandy is survived by her loving husband, Gary Pollock; her children: Jody Tedder (nee Pollock) Lauren Pollock and her fiancé, Louis Anuszewski, and Tim (Kelly Ebner), Pollock; her siblings, Sally, Patty, Pam and Gary; and her grandson, Colin Tedder. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Sandy’s life on Tuesday, January 10 from 3 to 5 pm and from 7 to 9pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 11 at 11am. Interment will be private.
