Sandy Lester - Obituary

andy Lorraine Lester Sandy Lorraine Lester, a 29 year resident of Glen Burnie, MD, died at her residence on Wednesday December 31, 2008, peacefully in her sleep. She was 39. Born December 13, 1969 in Atlanta Georgia, Sandy was a homemaker, who had a beautiful singing voice, and who loved to sing Karaoke and dance. She enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves baseball games, and cooked Italian food better than anyone. She was a proud member of The Meetings. Sandy is survived by her life partner Terry Asuncion, her son Nicholas McDermott, and her daughter Dana McDermott, both of Glen Burnie, MD. She is also survived by her father Richard Villanuera and her mother Peggy Villanuera, her stepfather Robert Dravo, and her grandmother Mary Massey her brothers Todd and Kenneth Lester, both of Atlanta, GA, her sisters Christine Hall of Edgewater, Jennie Moore of Odenton, MD and Tracie Notaro of Glen Burnie. Also survived by her nieces and nephews, Christina, Ashleigh, Courtney and Michael Hall, Johnny Hock and Kimberly Sowers, Krysten and Devon Moore, Emily Notaro and her best friend and cousin, Sheila Hock. Friends are invited to Sandy's Life Celebration on Tuesday from 6-8pm and Wednesday from 3pm until funeral service begins at 4pm at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. Inurnment will take place in Atlanta, Georgia at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Sandy Lester Memorial Fund c/o Bank of America.
