S

arah Virginia "Sally" Estep, 82, a resident of Annapolis for 15 years and previously of Severna Park, died of acute renal failure Jan. 3 in her home after a two-week illness. Mrs. Estep was born March 1, 1926, in Altoona, Pa., and graduated from Mary Washington University in 1950. She worked as a social worker and then as an elementary school teacher until around 1968, when she became a writer and a paranormal investigator. She wrote two books, "Voices of Eternity" and "Roads to Eternity." Mrs. Estep was the founder and president of the American Association of Electronic Voice Phenomena, and was a member of Severna Park Methodist Church. She enjoyed investigating the paranormal. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 46 years, Charles Sheldon Estep. Survivors include one son, Robert Wilson Estep of Riva; twin daughters, Cynthia Jane Estep of New Carrollton and Rebecca Anne Estep of Annapolis; and two grandchildren. Family and friends may visit from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Annapolis. Memorial contributions may be made to the AAEVP, PO Box 1311, Reno, NV 89507.
