cott “Scotty” L. Barber, 58, a 38-year resident of Edgewater, died suddenly on July 12, 2011 at Anne Arundel Medical Center from an aneurysm.
He was born October 10, 1952 in Binghamton, NY, graduated from Annapolis High School in 1969 and later attended Anne Arundel Community College. Scotty worked in the engineering department at Anne Arundel Medical Center for over 25 years.
Scotty was a very active member at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship in Davidsonville, where he helped run the Overcomer’s Outreach program, was a leader of the Family Ministries and played bass in the Worship Team. He loved music, fishing, camping, softball, volleyball, bowling and spending time with family and friends.
Scott is survived by his wife, Barbara Barber, whom he married on March 10, 1973; one son, Chris Barber, and two daughters, Nichole McWaters and Andrea Dale, all of Edgewater; two brothers, Curtis Barber of Westminster and Doug Barber of Rose Haven; and one sister, Bobbie Churchill Coddington of Montello, WI; also survived by 7 grandchildren, Jenna, Grace, Isaac, Savannah, Ethan, Camie Mae and Sierra.
Friends are invited to a celebration of Scotty’s life on Friday, July 15, 2011, at 4pm at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship, 377 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD 21035. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Chesapeake Christian Fellowship.
