Selma Myerly - Obituary

elma “Knute” O. Myerly Selma O. “Knute” Myerly, 85 originally from Davidsonville, MD., died January 26, 2009 at her daughter's home in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia after a lengthy illness. Knute was born in Brooklyn, NY and served in the Army Air Corps, stationed at Andrews Air Force Base. She was a homemaker and a loving mother of five children. She loved painting, writing children's stories, and crafting. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 226 in Mayo. Knute was predeceased by her husband Jack Myerly in 2000, whom she married in 1949. She is survived by her children, Raymond Myerly of Hampstead, Karen Mash of Crofton, MD, Jill Baker and her husband Enoch, of Harpers Ferry, WV, Linda Stobbart and her husband Dave of North Hamptonshire, England, and the late Jackie Myerly who died in 1974. She is also survived by her brother Kaspar Knutsen of Longmont, Colorado. She was the loving grandmother of Rick and Steve Mash, Jason, John, Josh, and Jeremy Baker, Sierra Adamson, Dawn Delgado and Michael Myerly, and the great-grandmother of Alexander and Madison Baker and Alysa Delgado. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday February 4, 2009 at 2pm at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, 900 W. Central Ave. Davidsonville, MD 21035. Arrangements are by the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, Edgewater, MD.
