Sharon Lyn Carlton, 79, a 31-year resident of Davidsonville, MD, died on August 10, 2024. Born on September 7, 1944, in New York, she was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Hanlon and Doris Janson. Sharon pursued her passion for home economics at SUNY Plattsburgh before dedicating her life to her family as a homemaker.

Sharon's greatest joys included cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, dog training, and creating lasting memories with her granddaughter and her beloved dog, Puffin. She was deeply involved in the Newfoundland dog community, serving as a longtime member of the Colonial Newfoundland Rescue and the Newfoundland Club of America.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Kevin H. Carlton; her two children, Christopher Carlton (wife Colleen Connelly) of Potomac, MD, and Colleen Zamorano (husband Felipe) of Boca Raton, FL; her siblings, Beverly Puhalla of Pawnee City, NE and Keith Hanlon of Northampton, PA; and her cherished granddaughter, Izabell Zamorano.

Friends are invited to celebrate Sharon's life on Friday, August 16, from 2 pm until her funeral service begins at 4 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
