Sherry Simas may have left the mortal coil that was so very cruel to her in the end, but she left behind a legacy of love and selfless service. She has gone to be reunited with her Honey, Victor R Simas, and is survived by her sister, Joy Beringer, and her best friend, Barbra Einbinder and her children and their spouses, Suzi (Stephen II) Lyba, David Simas, Joseph Simas, and Jeni (Jeremiah) Wamaling, and her stepdaughter Pat Teutsch. She also is survived by 8 grandchildren and their spouses; Stephen III, Sean and Sydney Lyba, Charlie and Victoria Wamaling, Michelle (David) Ferrante, Christopher (Jessica) Teutsch, Jamie (Peter) Snyder, Michael (Carrie) Teutsch and by her great grandchildren; Justin Russell, Peter IV, Pierce, Taylor, and Lucas Snyder, Dominic and Sophia Teutsch, Ryan and Harper Teutsch.
Sherry loved art, photography, theater, music, practicing Judaism, crossword puzzles, the beach, teaching, girl scouting, eating good food with good company, dancing with her husband, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and catching up and enjoying time with her friends and family. She loved books, movies, cats, Yorkies, hummingbirds, helping others in any way she could, and laughing...above all, she loved to cackle until she couldn’t breathe. She loved to travel and ventured to Korea and the Philippines several times with her work for Catholic Charities adoption services.
She was a person who would give her last ounce of energy to make sure that someone else would have an easier time or could get their needs met. Sherry was always ready with a witty comment, an infectious laugh, and more sass than one would think could fit in her sweet little body. The world will not be the same without her.
