Sherry Godhard - Obituary

herry Lynn Godhard, 61, a 23-year resident of Harwood, died on October 4, 2009 at her home surrounded by family, following a 2-year battle with cancer. She was born on May 8, 1948 in Arlington, VA to Richard and Joy (Jordan) McConaughy who currently reside in Melbourne, FL. She attended the University of Maryland and spent 30 years working for the U.S. Postal Service in Edgewater, MD. She loved the ocean, gardening and, most of all, her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, James Patrick Godhard of Harwood; two sons, Chad Jordan Godhard of Gainesville, GA and Trent Patrick Godhard of North Beach, MD; one daughter, Amy Starr White of Greenville, SC; one brother James Richard McConaughy of Merritt Island, FL and four grandchildren. Friends are invited to Sherry's memorial service at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Holy Family Catholic Church Chapel, 826 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD. Interment private.
