Shirley Mae LaCovey - Obituary

hirley Mae LaCovey, 97, of Annapolis, Maryland peacefully passed away on December 14, 2025. Born on September 22, 1928, Shirley was a homemaker for 30 years and spent 30 years in the Federal Government at the Department of Agriculture. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards and games, and she loved volunteering in the Annapolis area after retiring. Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward B. LaCovey. She is survived by her children, Babette (Raymond), Marcus, Nanette, and Matthew; her brothers, Robert and Greg; her grandchildren, Dennis (Bethany), Marlena, Eddie, Taylor, and Kacie; and five great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Shirley's life on Monday, December 22 from 2 to 5 pm at Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 23 at 9:30 am at Annapolis Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W Central Avenue, Edgewater, MD.
